Today we put on our tourist hats and hit the road hard. We were led by Victor Riera Decker, our EF guide. Victor is a native of Ecuador, but speaks excellent English. His depth of knowledge about the history and culture is amazing
We began the day with a delicious breakfast of eggs, fruit and pastries. Then we headed into the heart of Quito where we spent the morning visiting cathedrals and a monastery.

Next, we loaded up the bus and headed for the equator.
There were many beautiful gardens filled with humming birds
We learned about the indigenous tribes.

We learned all about the Coriolis effect:
Supposedly it is easier to balance an egg on the equator.
We wrapped up our tour of the equator with roasted Guinea Pig.

Finally, a visit to a craft market and dinner and then off to bed for a 5:15am departure.
